Hospice Care at Redeemer

Hospice is a philosophy of care that recognizes every person deserves to live out his or her life with respect and dignity, free of pain, and in an environment that promotes quality of life. Hospice begins with a referral from a medical provider when life expectancy is six months or less. This specialized end-of-life care focuses on comfort with services that include medical, personal care, emotional support and spiritual care.

Highly-specialized hospice care can come to Redeemer Health Care Center from Grace Hospice and Guardian Angels † Elim Home Care and Hospice, who bring physical, emotional and spiritual care for people with life-limiting illnesses and support for their loved ones. Your family can hand over the worries of daily physical care, allowing all of you to focus on this precious time together. The chaplains are available for prayer, Bible reading, guidance and fostering connections with God and family. Chaplains are always respectful of personal and cultural preferences.

Many wonderful volunteers offer their varied gifts for companionship and a calming presence to residents. They can also help in a number of ways to make life easier.

These organizations will come to patients wherever they call home.

“My mom has been a resident at Redeemer for a few months now. It is so comforting to all of my family to know that she is in the caring hands of the entire staff. Thanks to you all.”

Palliative Care ~ Comfort Care

This specialty care is appropriate for patients with progressive, deteriorating and incurable illnesses. Treatment is directed away from the efforts to cure to a focus on holistic comfort care. Palliative care includes a wide range of services designed to achieve best quality of life—control of symptoms, pain management and restoration of functional capacity as much as possible.

Palliative care may begin with medical consultation with the patient and their family, always remaining sensitive to personal cultural and religious values, beliefs and practices.
